The village The village is made up of several mills, a dairy, an ironmonger's, a stone well, a barn and authentic wooden houses displaying household objects and traditional attire. The mills from 1917 and 1937 are still used to grind corn in order to get flour for making flat round bread served in the restaurant. It means that all the equipment once used by a millman during grinding seasons is still there. The dairy dates from 1948. It is a small building for making and storing milk products. Dairies were kept especially clean and aired, and only dairymaids could go in there. The dairy displays wooden bowls used for keeping dairy products. The houses are made of wood, they have high roofs and they belong to the Dinaric type of houses. Although they are completely authentic outside, their interior is exactly what a man of today needs. In one of the houses there is a souvenir shop offering handmade products. A few more houses are being built to become workshops for weaving, pottery, and ironmongery. All these buildings are near the pond and the brook winding between them. They are also made into a whole by stone paths. Spring water flowing all around the village symbolizes the origin of life, existence and permanence.
Activities Accommodation The interior of the authentic wooden houses is completely adjusted to the guests' needs. The cottages are decorated with souvenirs and antique objects dating from the same period... |
