Bijeljina and Semberija dispose with many resources which can be used for development of tourism. Beside the industry, is interested in development of tourism, it could be one of the most important factor for develop
ment of municipality of Bijeljina, but also of whole region. Special attention must be dedicated on transit, religious and spa tourism, but also hunting and fishing tourism, all in long term of development of tourism in Bijeljina. In Semberija, there is significant potential for development of village tourism. Mild climatic condition, mean annual temperature of about 12 degrees Celsius, clean air, unpolluted river the Drina and rich flora and fauna make this region ideal place for enjoyment in nature wealth, recreation, sports and fishing and hunting.

The municipality of Bijeljina is located in the north-eastern part of the Republic of Srpska. Its neighboring municipalities, in the west and south, are Brcko, Lopare, Ugljevik and Zvornik. North and east, it is bordered by the rivers Sava and Drina, while its southwest borders are the slopes of the Majevica Mountain. The territory of the municipality covers 734 square kilometers of predominantly plain and plain-hilly Semberija lowland and this is corroborated by the datum that an average altitude is approximately 90 meters. Semberija used to be the bottom of the Pannonian Sea and its today’s appearance is the consequence of eolian erosion and river flooding, therefore fertile black soil prevails, which makes this area, together with favorable climatic condition, the most fertile region in the republic of Srpska. It is well connected with all parts of republic of Srpska by its modern asphalt roads, as well as with Serbia from the border of which it is only 12 kilometers away. It is separated from the Republic of Croatia by 45 kilometers; so far Bijeljina is the town at a tri-border point.
The spiritual center of the Serbs of this region- the Orthodox monastery Tavna – is the oldest building in the territory of municipality of Bijeljina. Its construction started in the beginning of the 14th century and its today’s appearance was mostly formed in the course of the 16th century. In the town itself, there is a much newer Church of Saint George and its construction began in 1857 and ended in 1872. On 12. May 2001. in memory of two thousand years of Christianity, new built monastery of St. Vasilije Ostroski was sacred.
Settled in Northeastern part of Republic of Srpska - BiH, Dvorovi Spa is situated between rivers of Sava and Drina, on 93 m height above sea level, and roads running across Raca and Pavlovic Bridge from Serbia to Bijeljina and farther to Banja Luka and other cities in Bosnia and Herzegovina. By its Semberia meekness, grand parks, swimming pools, good hotel accommodation in St Stephan Hotel, and above all by good host hospitability, Dvorovi Spa is right place for vacation, prevention and curing for different diseases. Tourist attraction of Semberija is definitely “Ethno village Stanisici”. On Semberija’s plain, there is a village with about ten houses, diary and cottages transported from Brgul of the plateau of Zvijezda and Romania. With the restoration of the wooden roof- shingle roof, the authentic appearance was returned to them and the household furniture which belonged to them for centuries is in the houses. The paths made of stone plaques connect houses, and there are two clean lakes in the center of the village. The restaurant part- wine- cellar is equipped completely in ethno style, with the menu of the traditional meals prepared on the hearth and the meals of modern cooking. The accommodation capacities, although made in the most modern way, follow the ethno interior. They are situated in the houses- log cabins which make the atmosphere of the past and the commodity of the modern times.
While talking about tourist attractions of Bijeljina we must mention restaurant “Lovac”. This is the oldest restaurant in this area and it treasures half-century long tradition of good food. Random travelers have been coming to this restaurant for famous kebabs since far 1954. Since 2006. this tradition has been continued by Snežana i Dragan Todorović who took this place and catering experience achieved in Germany, transfer to this restaurant with intention that with national cooking and in new ethno look build authentic family business brand. The spirit of one nation you can meet only if you come into their houses, like welcomed and dear guests, where you will feel good hospitality and kindness. That ambient you can find in this village and in this restaurant, with a lot of warmth, fantasia, architecture enterprises and cooking facilities. You will be fascinated with ethno smell of childhood, old things, gallery and lots of other impressions which are playing with your senses. Once when you feel this experience, you will remember it forever.
Culture life of Bijeljina is intensive during whole year, thanks to activities of lots professional and amateur institutions and societies.
Past of Semberija is available to today’s generations thanks to archeology and ethnographic exponents in Museum of Semberija.

Tourist organization of Bijeljina has become relevant factor in development of tourism in Bijeljina and Semberija. Following that course, special attention must be devoted in development of village tourism, with more accented forms of healthy life, healthy food, salutarily herbs, recreation in nature, riding the bicycle etc.
Tourist organization of Bijeljina is organizer and co-organizer of all tourists, cultural and fun manifestations. One of them is “Regatta on the Drina”.
